Grand Thrift Auto
Saving Salvage
I took a massive gamble on this non-runner Audi A7 from BCA!
Its diesel engine has seized, and in this first video of three Dean tries to work out why. The first clues point to potential water ingress, and also timing chain failure. However, as Dean digs deeper (not an easy job), it looks like bearing failure.
The hammer price was $12,000, so what are his chances of making any money out of it? You'll find his second video here and the third one here.
Allen Millyard
Norton Nemesis V8 RebuildAllen says: "As far as I'm aware, this is the only bike that has survived. It’s owned by the National Motorcycle Museum and has been on display as a non-running exhibit for many years.
“I worked on the bike last year, getting the engine to run after a few rudimentary checks, new oil and batteries for a TV show where it was ridden for a few miles up to 80kph, but it wasn't running very well and was leaking a lot of oil and coolant.”
