1 Undo the retaining screws from around the top of the air cleaner cover (see illustration) .
Undo the retaining screws – 1.8 litre engine
2 Lift the cover from the air cleaner, and then withdraw the element, noting how it is fitted (see illustration) .
Removing the air filter element – 1.8 litre engine
3 Wipe clean the interior surfaces of the cover and main body, using a dampened cloth.
4 Locate the new element in the main body, making sure it is seated correctly, then refit the cover and secure with the retaining screws.
